GREY'S: SECRET SANTA - Everyone Feels Like You
Grey's Secret Santa 2010 for

I really apologize for the delay...I was rushing to get this done by midnight on the 3rd, and then I saw the lovely extention notice and figured I'd take a little more time.

I really hope you like it...I stepped way outside of my comfort zone with the first fic, and I hope I captured at least a fraction of what you were expecting.

Everyone Feels Like You
Rated - M

She’s three drinks in before she realizes that Meredith’s standing in the doorway, watching her with an amused expression etched across her face. Lexie looks up from her perch on the floor, legs indian-style and back pressed taut against the kitchen cabinets and waits for her sister to mock her, the way she suspects she will.

Meredith merely raises an eyebrow and grabs a beer, stopping inches before Lexie. She looks down at her curiously.

Lexie sighs. “You know, we may be dirty mistresses, but Derek’s sister she’s...she’s a whore,” she mutters quickly, taking another sip of her fresh beer.

There’s a moment of anticipation where Lexie braces herself for a lecture and an eye roll, the inevitable Meredith Grey way of telling her to grow up.

Instead, Meredith chuckles and sits down next to her. As Meredith’s leg brushes against Lexie’s, her thoughts of Amelia dissipate.

Lexie searches her mind for anything to say, because she and Meredith don’t often have moments like this, and she’s struggling to figure out exactly how to make it right. She’s spent three years trying to figure out how to make her and Meredith right.

“You’ll be fine,” Meredith insists loudly, smirking slightly as she places her hand on Lexie’s knee. Lexie bites down hard as her sister’s fingers slowly fall to her upper thigh.

She begins to panic, eyes wide and glued to Meredith’s tiny fingers running up and down the length of her jeans.

Eventually, Meredith’s hand falls back to the floor. Lexie begins to brush the incident off as a pseudo gesture of sisterly concern, because this is Meredith after all, and she doesn’t know much about functional families.

Lately, neither does Lexie.

Lexie’s leg still burns where Meredith’s fingers were moments before and she turns to her sister quickly, fingers tightening around the beer in her hand.

“Derek’s not home yet?”

It seems like a very important question.

Meredith shakes her head.

(When she looks back, she doesn’t remember how any of this happened. She only recalls that it did happen.)

Lexie’s hand falls from her beer to her sister’s face, cupping her cheek softly, child-like for a moment, and Meredith’s blue eyes stare back at Lexie, frozen with curiosity and fear. Lexie moves quickly.

Swiftly, Lexie pushes Meredith down to the floor, her legs straddling her older sister’s hips as her lips burn against hers. Terror sweeps over Lexie for an instant, as her hands freeze under the hemline of Meredith’s shirt, a clear moment in the haze of confusion where she thinks about what she’s doing and how Meredith might react.

“I didn’t peg you for a tease,” Meredith half-jokes. Lexie grins from above her.

Meredith pulls Lexie back down, kissing her roughly. Lexie has to remember to come up for air, remember where they are, remember that April, Alex, and Jackson are sleeping not so far away.

Meredith’s hand slides down Lexie’s stomach, fingers picking at the buttons on her jeans, and for a second Lexie thinks of Mark pressing her against the wall, then Mark pressing Amelia against the wall, and it fuels her to continue, to forget about what this is.

Meredith gasps as Lexie’s hand slides in between her legs, and Lexie grins wickedly. She finds herself wondering if Meredith is thinking of Cristina, thinking about how her best friend has completely lost herself, and then wonders if this is what Meredith and Cristina used to do. Her sister doesn’t seem at all confused about what to do next.

Whatever Meredith’s intention, she’s keen on forgetting someone, and Lexie plays along, understanding all too well the pain of always having to be the one forced to remember everything.

Lexie’s fingers unzip Meredith’s pants and slide over the outside of her underwear. Her fingers move slowly at first, quickening as Meredith’s panting grows louder and faster.

Meredith arches her back and Lexie leans down, kissing her slowly. Her tongue wrestles against Meredith’s and when she sucks on her lower lip, fingers finally pushing inside of her. Meredith’s nails dig into Lexie’s skin.

The front door opens quietly and Lexie jerks back to reality, her foot kicking over her forgotten beer bottle as she pulls herself off of Meredith. Meredith darts to the other side of the kitchen, pulling her jeans back up as Lexie scoops up her beer and falls back to her former position on the floor. She digs her knees into her chest quickly, trying desperately to catch her breath.

“What are you two still doing up?” Derek asks slowly as he steps into the kitchen.

Meredith blinks.

Lexie’s mind blurs.

“Your sister’s a whore,” she mutters quickly, the only words she can think of, her heart still pounding against her chest. She can still feel Meredith’s nails clawing as her hips, little crescent moon indents that haunt her skin for days.

Derek pauses and shoots Lexie an inquisitive look.

Lexie tries desperately to look upset, her cheeks still flushed with heat. She can’t imagine what she must look like right now.

“Mark,” Lexie says quickly. “She slept with Mark. Tonight. Right now probably. I don’t know.” She struggles to form a more cohesive explanation, but this is all she ends up with.

Behind Derek, Meredith silently zips up her jeans causing Lexie to stifle a grin. Their eyes lock for an instant and Lexie squirms, turning back to Derek.

“I did not need to know that,” he nods quickly, tapping Meredith’s elbow. “It’s been a hell of a night. Are you coming to bed?”
Meredith nods quickly, a forced smile glued to her face.

Lexie bites down on her lip.

A hell of a night, she thinks, leaning her head back against the cabinets.

OMG. I'm freaking out a little bit right now. I love this so much. It's amazing. Thank you!

You captured them perfectly and I dig the build up and the way you describe Lexie's thoughts and Meredith's “I didn’t peg you for a tease” reaction to Lexie's hesitation.

I adore this line: Whatever Meredith’s intention, she’s keen on forgetting someone, and Lexie plays along, understanding all too well the pain of always having to be the one forced to remember everything. That's oh so very them.

And I love this image at the end: She can still feel Meredith’s nails clawing as her hips, little crescent moon indents that haunt her skin for days.

I stepped way outside of my comfort zone with the first fic, and I hope I captured at least a fraction of what you were expecting.
You did an amazing job. Seriously.

And there's no need to apologize for posting today. I took full advantage of the extension too. Thank you again!

(Oh and, if you want, you should totally post this over at meredith_lexie too!)

Ahh! I'm so glad you liked it! I was so nervous about this one...!!! You're very welcome!

I was mostly worried about writing Mer/Lexie and staying in character, so I'm very relieved that it came across as canon.

It was actually a lot of fun to write and I LOVE that you enjoyed it!

I'll definitely post this at the meredith/lexie group as well. Thanks! :)

Aaaaaaaaaawesome! If not sad that they were interrupted. ;) It's nice to see Lexie instigate things, which tends to be somewhat of a rarity for this pairing. Nicely done! (And I second posting this at meredith_lexie. ;) ALMOST FORGOT, loved the nod to Meredith/Cristina as well. XD

You're too kind!

I knew I definitely wanted Lexie to initiate in this fic...at least to a point. I think she's often overlooked as a passive character, and she really isn't (in my opinion).

I had to hint at Meredith/Cristina...it only seemed natural. :)

Thanks so much for reading!

Oh my lord... This is the weirdest thing I've ever read, even more weird than the Trellawney/Dobbie oneshot I once read (if you are into HP, otherwise you could just ignore that). Anyway, yeah, you probably know how wrong that was, BUT you are AWESOME at writing! Really, really good! It shows, because you managed to make a really difficult pairing credible. Good job!!! I SERIOUSLY think, and encourage you, to continue this or start another one, longer, about them. Totally freakin awesome.

Oh my gosh, thanks so much! (And yes, I am into HP so your metaphor was not lost on me...)

I've seen and read some Lexie/Mer fic, and yeah, the whole sister thing is what makes it wrong, but I don't know...there' something to, otherwise there wouldn't be a ship devoted to them.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed this, especially because you found the pairing difficult. I did too...at first. And, yes, I'm definitely considering writing more. :)

Thanks you for reading!
